BADGERS MOUNT RESIDENTS' ASSOCIATION
TREE SAFETY WORKS
Highland Road and Badgers Road
Monday 13th
and Tuesday 14th May 2019
Dear Residents.
Following a number of recent
incidents where fallen trees at Badgers Mount have caused disruption and
property damage, the BMRA called on some local arboriculturalists to carry out
safety inspections of the trees lining our unadopted roads and to let us have
quotes for any work needed. As you might imagine, these inspections identified a
number of trees that are dead and/or have dead branches and which are considered
a potential danger to the residents, their property and to all users of our
roads.
Following Sevenoaks District Council's TPO approval and the
promise of a financial contribution from our Parish Council, we have arranged
for specific tree safety works to be carried out in Highland Road and Badgers
Road on Monday and Tuesday, 13th and 14th May subject, of course, to the
weather! The locations of the affected trees are marked with red dots on the
plan below.
We have been told that the work should only take a
couple of days and that any disruption to the use of our roads will be kept to
the absolute minimum. Any necessary road closures will be temporary and short
term warning signage will be placed as and where necessary to enable everyone to
use the alternative access routes. Wood will be stacked within the verges to
serve as a haven for wildlife, but should you wish to avail yourselves of a few
logs, please do so but please leave some for others and for the wildlife.
We are proposing to plant new trees later in the year to ensure the beauty
of Badgers Mount is maintained for the future.
We apologise for any
inconvenience this work may cause and thank you in advance for your support and
understanding.
