If you have any queries or suggestions
please speak with your Road Representative. Any issues
raised will be discussed at the next available Committee Meeting.
One of the most significant items
raised at the AGM concerned the former Travellers Site at the
end of the Orpington By-Pass. The Committee are continuing
to monitor this situation and are in correspondence with Sevenoaks
District Council in an attempt to get this Site cleared.
SHOREHAM PARISH
PLAN
All Parish Councils throughout
the UK are currently considering ideas for their Parish Plan
for the next 10 years. At present, we have four volunteers
representing Badgers Mount on the Parish Assembly to help with
the construction of the Parish Plan which is aimed at improving
facilities and future needs within our area.
However, more volunteers are desperately
needed if Badgers Mount is to have a fair representation within
the Plan. If you would like to take part or require further
information on what is involved please speak with Len Cottle
or Trevor Simmons.
The Meetings for the Parish Plan
are held at approximately 6 week intervals however, it is not
essential that you attend each Meeting. If you have any
proposals/suggestions for discussion but are unable to become
a volunteer please submit these in writing to any Residents
Association Committee Member who will pass them to the volunteers
attending the next Meeting.
We understand that all households
will shortly receive a Questionnaire to complete and return
to the Post Office relating to the Parish Plan.

The November Meeting of the Council
will take place in the Memorial Hall, Highland Road on Thursday,
14th November 2002 at 8.00 p.m. All residents will be
made welcome and an open session held for Badgers Mount residents
to raise any issues they may have.

FIRST AID

Following the considerable interest
from residents wishing to receive some basic First Aid instruction
we are endeavouring to arrange for the Red Cross to provide
courses for this. Please watch the Website and Notice
Boards for further details.
PLANNING ISSUES
Recent Planning Applications submitted
for the erection of a house on Green Belt Land in Highland Road
and for a Telecomm Mast adjacent to Woodlands View were opposed
and have both been rejected by the Sevenoaks District Council.
MOBILE LIBRARY

The Library continues to come to
Badgers Mount on alternate Thursdays stopping by the Public
Footpath Sign (opposite to the Hall) on Orpington By-Pass.
The next visit will take place on 19th September
2002 from 10.15 to 10.30 a.m.
SPEEDING

This continues to be a problem
on ALL Badgers Mount roads. We would ask residents to
adhere to the speed limits set for individual roads and be vigilant
for pedestrians and animals.
