CAR HOME DEVELOPMENT
- A224 ORPINGTON BYPASS
Do you have problems with noise and other nuisances from the old Elite Motors/New Care Home site?
1. The old Elite Motors site on
the Orpington Bypass is being developed into a Care Home. Excavation and
initial ground work such as foundations have just started, with site
completion currently forecast towards the middle of 2019. We are working
with the Site Manager towards minimising disturbance and he will be giving
monthly updates to the BMRA co-ordinator Will Withecombe. This information
will be circulated via the Badgers Mount Website
www.badgersmount.net If you prefer a paper copy, please contact either Will
or the Chairman – contact details below.
2. Inevitably there will be
occasions when unforeseen problems arise. If you have a particular problem,
the Site Manager, Steve Wheeler, can be reached on 07500 803095 or by e-mail
at steve@lawrencebaker.co.uk
3. In all cases, please also let the
Badgers Mount Residents Association know via e-mail or phone. We need to
maintain a log of all problems which will be invaluable in fighting our
corner in any future disputes.

ROAD SAFETY
The Site
Cabins have been positioned with the agreement of Kent Highways Department,
although you wonder about their map-reading skills given that they block
crucial lines of sight pedestrians crossing the Orpington Bypass from the
direction of Old London Road.
Please use the 2 road islands, 1 either
side of the Care Home site, when crossing the road. There has been a
previous fatal accident here due to blocked lines of sight; let’s not suffer
another casualty.
Parents – perhaps you could persuade your school
buses to pick up and drop off further along the road towards Sevenoaks in
order to avoid children being tempted to cross at the Care Home site.
