Collections following a Bank Holiday are normally a day late, but this may differ, particularly over Christmas and the New Year. Collection times can be variable, so SDC recommend that bags should be left out by 7am.
There is also a garden waste collection via a paid for
subscription.

Local bus tops are along Old London Road.
Route 3 from Sevenoaks Bus Station and runs via Sevenoaks Station, Riverhead Tesco, Dunton Green, Knockholt Pound, Halstead, Polhill Garden Centre, Pratts
Bottom, Green Street Green and Orpington to the Princess Royal University
Hospital at Locksbottom.

Knockholt Station is about two-thirds of a mile towards Orpington along the Old London Road from Badgers Rise (about a 15 minute walk) and has services to London and Sevenoaks.

There are numerous footpaths and walks around Badgers Mount.
Explore the local woods or walk to Halstead or go further into Shoreham or Well Hill.

There are two letter boxes in Badgers Mount – one in Badgers Road and one next to the bus stop in Old London Road near Badgers Rise and the footpath linking to Orpington Bypass.
There are also two on the Halstead border which are fairly close - one in Shoreham Lane near the roundabout and one on the corner of Watercroft Road and Old London Road (Heverswood).
Only the post box in Halstead by Hancocks has an afternoon collection.

A later collection is made at 6.15pm from Sevenoaks Post Office, South Park
The Badgers Mount Post Office and local store in Old London Road closed in 2004.
In Halstead, Hancocks Newsagents sells newspapers and magazines and a variety of confectionery, groceries etc.
Hancocks changed hands in 2023 and the shop has been enlarged
and refurbished.
The Halstead Post Office
CLOSED 22nd May 2022. The nearest alternatives are now
Windsor Drive Chelsfield, The Crescent Green St. Green, Otford or Shoreham.
Polhill Garden Centre (see their local business advert) has a farm shop and a butchers along with many other companies in their Shopping Village.

The KCC mobile library van stops in the Memorial Hall car park on alternate Thursdays, from 11.10am to 11.45am, during the coffee mornings.
There is a weekly Thursday coffee morning held in the Memorial Hall.
