To try and improve the current situation with flytipping and similar problems in and around Badgers Mount this page shows local problems which have been reported.

The idea is to use an open and transparent website service by FixMyStreet that automatically contacts Sevenoaks District Council or Kent County Council depending on where the responsibility resides.

The FixMyStreet website is created by mysociety.org a not-for-profit company who run a number of community based websites. The established web based service seems like an ideal way to report and monitor ongoing problems.
Residents can see when issues have been reported and add extra information if they feel it may help.

Damaged lamp post on pedestrian crossing - Reported 13th December 2011

The lamp post on the pedestrian crossing by Woodlands View, Badgers Mount has been damaged (over the last weekend).
The top of the lamp has been broken off and the post is now loose in the ground with lumps of broken tarmac laying around.

Road sign brackets removed - Reported 13th December 2011

This large road sign on the A224 is collapsing as some of the brackets are missing. Two other road signs next to this (one was the Welcome to Kent sign) have recently gone missing and have been reported separately to Kent Highways.

Flytipping - Chelsfield Distribution Centre, Shacklands Road, Badgers Mount

A sofa has been dumped next to the entrance to the FM Conway Chelsfield Distribution Centre in Shacklands Road, Badgers Mount.

Flytipping A224 Orpington By-Pass - Reported 13th December 2011

A bath and general builders rubbish dumped on the A224 Orpington By-Pass verge/woods.

30th December: SDC confirm they have received this report and are investigating land ownership.
9th January 2012: SDC were happy to update the FixMyStreet report directly, unfortunately they were only able to confirm "it's not their land". I've updated the KCC 'Clean Kent' team with their response.
15th March 2012: 'IF' Operations Manager SDC confirmed:
"Our Environmental Protection colleagues have agreed to verify the land-ownership, contact the owners and make clear their responsibilities for clearance."
22nd April 2012: After more emails I'm pleased to report this has now been cleared! If would make sense for the metal gate near the A224 which has been cut in half to be replaced before there's a recurrence...

Rubbish on the side of the Orpington By Pass

Flytipping/Rubbish - A224 Kent Reported 13th December 2011

More dumped rubbish along the A224 verge/woods. This is a couple of hundred yards along from the above Reports. This photo shows a cabinet, traffic cones and a car wheel/tyre.

Flytipping/rubbish - Hewitts roundabout A224 - Reported 13th Dec 2011

This dumped chair (and other litter) has been in the verge for at least one year now. There are also many road-cones, old tyres and other rubbish left from when works were carried out at this roundabout in the last year.

19th March 2012: Chair has now been removed! Lots of litter left...

Flytipping in field - Shacklands Road - Reported 13th December 2011

This photo shows a large amount of what looks like builders rubble very recently dumped in a field in Shacklands Road, directly opposite FM Conway's at the ex MOD Depot.
